The lovely wintertime, though it can be so harsh and cold, is always a time of retreat in many ways. It has a way of signaling time to rest, a slower pace of life and relaxing work. I had a knitter once tell me that she knits in the winter and crochets in the summer when she can work with cotton.
That thought inspired me. Wool to keep us warm, cotton to keep us cool ... it is time for washing fleeces until they are creamy soft and spinning them into yarn, slowly done, watching even single fibers floating together into a little tunnel of twist and then there is yarn! In our world of hurry, scurry, flurry ... this sweet season of 'hibernate' bears fruit!
